01What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. Cookies let the site remember something about you — for example, that you're signed in, what region you're in, or that you accepted a notice. We also use other similar technologies, including local storage, session storage, and pixels, which work in slightly different ways but serve similar purposes. We refer to all of them as "cookies" in this policy.
02How we use cookies
We use cookies for four purposes:
- Strictly necessary
- Required for the website and app to work — for example, keeping you signed in, securing your session, and remembering your accessibility preferences. You cannot turn these off.
- Preferences
- Remember choices you've made — for example, your saved location, your last-used filter, or that you've dismissed a banner. Turning these off may degrade the experience but does not break the service.
- Analytics and performance
- Help us understand how the Joyride Platform is used so we can make it faster and easier to use. We use aggregated analytics rather than tracking individuals across the web.
- Fraud, safety, and security
- Detect suspicious activity, prevent account takeover, and protect Riders and Drivers from fraud.
We do not use cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not load third-party advertising cookies on joyride.cool.
03Mobile SDKs and identifiers
In the Joyride mobile apps, we and our service providers use mobile SDKs and device identifiers — for example, Apple's IDFV, Google's Advertising ID (where available and used for analytics only), and crash-reporting SDKs. These work like cookies but live inside the app rather than the browser. You can reset these identifiers in your device's privacy settings.
04Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by third-party services we use to operate the Joyride Platform, including:
- Stripe for payment processing and fraud detection;
- Google Maps for mapping and routing;
- Our hosting provider (Vercel) for traffic routing and content delivery; and
- Our analytics provider for aggregated usage metrics.
Each of these has its own privacy and cookie policies, which govern their use of the data they collect.
05Your choices
- Browser settings: most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies will prevent core parts of the Joyride Platform from working.
- Mobile settings: reset your advertising identifier in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
- Opt out of marketing email and SMS: follow the unsubscribe link or reply STOP to a marketing SMS.
06Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit a "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signal. Because we do not use cross-context behavioral advertising cookies on joyride.cool, our handling of personal information does not change in response to these signals. 07Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice.
